Volunteering

Without the caring, responsible commitment and dedication of our volunteers, Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary would not be able to do what we do each and every day.  On a daily basis, we rely on volunteers to help with everything from animal care, fundraising, drivers for animal transfers, tour guides, etc.  Every job is important, no matter how small.   Thanks to the gift of time and hard work, every volunteer helps give wildlife a second chance.

On occasion we need specialized assistance e.g. electricians, plumbers, painters, carpenters but for the most part no experience is required just a strong commitment and desire to help wildlife in need.

The only qualification necessary to volunteer at the Sanctuary is that the individual be 18 years or older.  However, those that are younger than 18 years must be supervised by an adult at all times and jobs assigned are age and physically appropriate.

Testimonials

This is my Third summer at Aspen and I hope there will be many more.
I can’t think of a more rewarding experience than saving the lives of orphaned and injured wildlife.
Nadine – Germany

Aspen is a great opportunity to work with and learn about our native wildlife.
Hands on experience feeding babies is enjoyable and rewarding.
It is also a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world.
Stephanie – Ontario

I absolutely recommend others to volunteer at Aspen Valley.  It is the most rewarding work I have ever experienced and have made some friends for life!  Being from the UK, I would never otherwise have had the chance to work with animals such as raccoons and moose.
Nicola - England

Our work could not be thorough and successful without the commitment of so many selfless people who place great value on seeing disadvantaged wildlife being helped.
We thank them for their loyalty and dedication.
